Help me give my students the opportunity to make unique art by using one of the first forms of photography - cyanotype!

My Project

For this year's print-making unit, I aim for my 5th grade students to be introduced to Sun Printing, also known as Cyanotype! Cyanotype is one of the earliest forms of photography, dating back to the mid-1800's. It's still used today in art, its unique look and methods unlike any in its field.

With cyanotype printing, not only do students get to make unique art, but they get to learn more about the scientific process of how cameras captured images and how early photos were developed.

This unit, in combining science, history, and art, will help students engage creatively and learn through this project. I thank you very much in advance for any and all help in enabling our students to learn, make art, and have fun!
