My Project

My students love to read and our classroom is full of over 1,000 books that are full of information to help them grow! Unfortunately, our school was built in 1923 and while our furniture is very well loved, it is time for it to retire.

My goal with updated bookshelves is to give students a classroom library that feels safe and comfortable when choosing the books they would like to borrow for the week.

Currently our bookshelves are sagging and I am concerned that their structural integrity has been compromised by years of usage. I have done everything I can to keep the shelves intact for usage, but it is time for them to be updated soon or I will need to pack away my classroom library to ensure student safety since our current shelves cannot remain in use. I hope that the amazing DonorsChoose community can help me by supporting this project and give my students the library they deserve!
