My Project

Many of my first-grade students come to school each day excited and ready to learn, but a large number of them arrive without a snack to help them stay focused and energized throughout the school day. Young learners have busy schedules filled with reading, writing, math, hands-on activities, and opportunities to grow socially and academically. Having access to a snack can make a meaningful difference in their ability to concentrate, participate, and fully engage in classroom activities.

Our school is a Title I school, and many of the families we serve experience challenges that can make providing additional daily snacks difficult.

There is a genuine need for this type of support, not only in my classroom but also across the other first-grade classrooms on my grade level. By providing a variety of snacks, we can make sure more students have the opportunity to learn without being distracted by hunger.

This project will help create a more supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel cared for and ready to succeed. When students have their basic needs met, they are better able to focus on instruction, collaborate with classmates, and build confidence as learners. These snacks will help ensure that every student has the energy and opportunity to make the most of each school day.
