My Project

My energetic and inquisitive 6th graders spend each day diving into complex novels, analyzing poetry, and crafting their own analytical and creative writing. At this transitional middle school age, sitting at traditional rigid desks for long stretches can quickly lead to restlessness and loss of focus—especially during quiet independent reading and collaborative group discussions. Flexible, flexible seating options allow students to find a physical space where they feel relaxed and ready to learn, transforming reading from a passive assignment into a cozy, immersive experience.

By funding floor seat cushions for our classroom, you will help create an inviting, comfortable literacy lounge where every student can focus on their work.

These durable floor cushions will allow students to break away from standard rows, gather in small literature circles, or curl up in a corner with a good book during reading workshop. Providing comfortable physical spaces directly boosts student engagement, encourages collaborative peer discussions, and fosters a lifelong love for reading in our middle school ELA community!

We also would love to have some colored cups for fun activities the first week of school. Also a soccer ball for some recess fun!
