My Project

My students enjoy learning about the world around them through books and other media.

We are an International Elementary School that is also a Title I school.

Our kids come from very diverse backgrounds, ranging from military to homeless. At our school we focus on global education where our students are exposed to a variety of educational opportunities.

Times for Kids is a great opportunity for my students to experience the world at their own fingertips through printed media. It allows me, as the teacher, the ability to encourage reading and writing through a different venue. Using the questions from the NC Standard Course of Study, students will read and answer questions at their individual academic level. Beyond that, they will be able to form opinions and provide discourse on topics that are current.

Reading is a fundamental skill, and this donation will give my students an opportunity to enhance this skill and take it one step further in their writing.

By encouraging them now to take part in their community and the world, they will become future globally engaged citizens.
