My Project

Our scholars love to read, pretend to read, and use their creativity through dramatic play. They enjoy pretending to be mothers, fathers, nurses, and doctors while practicing everyday activities they see at home.

Bean bags will provide a comfortable, cozy space where scholars can sit while reading independently, looking at books, or listening to stories.

An ironing board will allow them to practice life skills and pretend to iron clothing. A doll bed will encourage nurturing and caregiving as they practice putting a baby to sleep, caring for a baby when they are sick, and showing love and compassion. A dresser will provide storage for their pretend-play clothing while helping them learn organization and responsibility.

These materials will encourage imagination, independence, language development, social-emotional skills, and hands-on learning while helping scholars explore different interests and discover what they may want to be when they grow up.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
