My Project

My eighth graders are creative, hard-working, and resilient students preparing for the big transition to high school. They come to class eager to learn, but many face financial barriers that make it difficult to arrive with the necessary school supplies. Additionally, eighth graders grow rapidly and possess high energy, meaning they frequently arrive at our ELA block hungry and distracted by empty stomachs. Despite these daily hurdles, my students are incredibly supportive of one another and possess immense potential. They deserve a classroom environment where they do not have to worry about missing tools or skipped meals, allowing them to focus entirely on their education.

Having a fully stocked supply closet means no student will feel embarrassed about asking for a pencil or paper. Providing healthy snacks ensures that every child has the physical energy and stamina required to tackle rigorous ELA standards. By investing in these fundamental basics, you are directly boosting student focus, increasing classroom engagement, and showing my 8th graders that their community cares deeply about their success.
