My Project

My students walk into class curious and hands-on, unafraid to get their hands dirty — propagating cuttings, testing soil, troubleshooting a sick plant in our greenhouse. Many are considering careers in horticulture or agriculture, and I love watching that "I could actually do this" spark grow over the semester.

What they need is a source they can trust as much as I trust them.

Right now, research means sifting through ads and unreliable search results. The NC Extension Gardener Handbook fixes that — organized around exactly what they're learning: plant biology, environmental conditions, propagation, pest management, and production practices. It's the same resource real horticulturists and county extension agents rely on, and it'll serve my students for years to come.
