My Project

Kindergarteners are still learning how to express their feelings, solve problems, and calm their bodies. It is easy for them to feel overwhelmed. Our classroom needs a dedicated calm corner and social-emotional learning space where students can feel safe, supported, and understood while building these lifelong skills.

These resources will help children develop self-regulation and build positive relationships with their classmates.

A cozy rug, floor cushions, soft lighting, calming books, and faux plants will create a welcoming environment where students can pause and reset. Noise-canceling headphones, a visual timer, breathing activities, fidget tools, magnetic building blocks, and a feelings poster will provide hands-on strategies for managing emotions and making positive choices. A calm corner is more than just a cozy space—it is a place where students learn that their feelings matter and that they are valued members of our classroom family.
