My Project

I am very fortunate to work at my neighborhood school that my own children also attend. That makes my elementary school an even more special place to me because I am completely embedded in the community!

I love that kindergartners come to school fresh and excited to learn.

We all know learning to read can be hard! My project would purchase tools that would make this process a little more engaging and fun for our youngest learners. Letter magnets and letter mats would not only help kindergartners increase their fine motor skills, but also help them learn to identify and blend letters and sounds. These are materials I would use daily during small group instruction.

I love that kindergartners are so eager to tackle the challenge, and there is no greater feeling than seeing them succeed and the pride on their faces!
