My Project

Every day, my students work hard to overcome challenges that go far beyond academics. Many of them struggle with anxiety, attention, sensory needs, and emotional regulation. My goal is to create a calm, welcoming space where they can take a moment to regulate their emotions, practice healthy coping skills, and return to learning feeling confident and ready to succeed.

This calming corner will include flexible seating, sensory tools, noise-canceling headphones, social-emotional learning resources, and organization to create a safe environment where students feel supported.

These resources will help students learn to recognize their emotions, develop self-regulation strategies, and build independence while reducing disruptions to learning.

I want every student who walks into my classroom to know they have a safe place where they are supported, encouraged, and given the tools they need to be successful both academically and emotionally.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
