This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second graders are curious, resilient, and eager to learn. As a Title I school, many of my students come from low-income families, and many are newcomers to our country who are learning English while adjusting to a new school and community. Even so, they come to school each day excited to learn, ask questions, and celebrate every success. After spending the last four years as an elementary music teacher, I am thrilled to begin this new chapter as a second-grade teacher. As I build my first self-contained classroom, I need essential supplies, organizational tools, and learning resources to create a welcoming space where every child can succeed.

Every child deserves a classroom that is organized, engaging, and filled with the tools they need to learn with confidence.

The materials in this project will help create a classroom where students can focus, collaborate, and grow. Organizational resources will make materials easy to access and encourage independence, while educational displays and visual supports will reinforce learning, establish routines, and help all students—especially English learners—feel confident and included.

My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels safe, valued, and inspired to do their best. Your support will provide more than classroom supplies—it will help create a place where my students feel they belong, have the resources they need to succeed, and can develop a lifelong love of learning.
