My Project

Honestly, I am going to a new school with students I have yet to meet. The classroom has been without a full time teacher and the needs are high. I love watching them come in, not knowing what school is and then thriving with many independent and self help skills when they leave.

I love watching their growth and seeing them blossom into their own little identities.

A light table is not just a sensory toy, it is an instructional tool that can make learning more accessible, motivating and developmentally appropriate. It helps with their fine-motor development and visual engagement as well. It will build their independence, increase their levels of sensory awareness and spatial development. A spin chair will help with sensory regulation in the classroom. The snacks are beneficial to giving a little energy and motivation to keep pushing through our long school days.

I want my students to feel empowered to spin on the chair when they need a break or need to self- regulate, to exert extra energy and soothe their sensory needs. I hope that having a snack can encourage them to stay focused and energized. I hope that the cleaning supplies help to keep our space clean and safe.
