My Project

In my classroom, headphones aren't just another school supply—they're a tool that helps my students learn, grow, and believe in themselves.

Every single day, my students use headphones for reading, math, and other online learning activities.

They listen to stories, complete interactive lessons, and use headphones with microphones to record themselves reading. Watching their faces light up as they hear themselves become stronger, more confident readers is one of my favorite moments as a teacher.

Headphones are also essential during computer-based assessments. They allow students to clearly hear directions and audio prompts while blocking out the distractions of a busy classroom. For some students, especially those with hearing differences or sensory sensitivities, headphones aren't just helpful—they're the key to accessing learning in a way that feels comfortable and equitable.

The challenge is that headphones are used constantly, and with little hands using them every day, they simply don't last. Worn-out ear pads, broken wires, and headphones that no longer work can quickly turn an exciting learning experience into one filled with frustration.

A new class set of comfortable, durable headphones will give every student the opportunity to stay focused, participate fully, and do their very best. It may seem like a small item, but in our classroom, headphones open the door to confidence, independence, and meaningful learning every single day.
