My Project

A carpeted area gives a comfortable, safe environment where students can participate in whole-group lessons, small-group instruction, movement activities, and social-emotional learning. Sitting on the carpet also encourages collaboration, improves engagement, and provides opportunities for hands-on, interactive instruction.

Flexible seating allows students to choose seating options that best meet their sensory, physical, and attention needs.

Many EC students benefit from the ability to move, change positions, or use alternative seating to help regulate their bodies and maintain focus. Providing choices such as floor cushions, wobble stools, bean bags, or low seating can reduce anxiety, increase independence, and improve participation in learning activities.

Together, a carpeted instructional area and flexible seating create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment that promotes comfort, self-regulation, engagement, and academic success.
