From Materials to Milestones: Supporting Speech-Language Growth

Help me give my students essential supplies to create hands-on, reusable speech therapy materials that support individualized communication goals.

My Project

My students receive speech-language services to support communication skills such as articulation, language development, vocabulary, sentence structure, and expressive communication. Many of them benefit most when instruction is visual, hands-on, and highly interactive. Custom-made materials allow me to meet each student exactly where they are and adapt quickly as skills grow.

This project will help me create durable, reusable, and engaging speech therapy materials that I can tailor to individual goals and therapy sessions.

By having the right supplies, I will be able to design activities that support learning across multiple skill areas and grade levels while keeping students motivated and actively participating.

The requested materials will be used to create customized therapy tools, including:

Card stock to create visual supports, articulation cards, and language activities

Laminating sheets to make materials long-lasting and reusable

Velcro dots to create interactive matching, sorting, and sentence-building activities

Magnetic organizers for the whiteboard to display visuals and organize therapy sessions

A lamp to improve lighting and visibility for table-top activities and visual tasks

These items will allow me to quickly adapt lessons, differentiate instruction, and reuse materials across multiple sessions and students.

How This Helps My Students

With these supplies, students will have access to interactive and engaging therapy materials that support their individual communication goals. Hands-on activities help students stay focused, practice skills more often, and build confidence in their communication abilities. Durable materials also ensure that students can use them week after week, maximizing learning opportunities.
