Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Imagine in third grade, your teacher uses PowerPoint's to give your tests. Imagine in third grade presenting a project to your classmates using a PowerPoint presentation. This is my dream for my students. Our school has the title of being a school of technology. However, because of funding we do not have the full opportunity to engage students in all facets of technology. To have more innovative and creative lessons, I would like to bring more technology into my classroom. What I would like to do is help students learn about PowerPoint presentation. I would like to use the PowerPoint program to teach students different subjects. For example, for reading, I would show students how two books can be compared and how to use different graphic organizers to comprehend what is being read. I would do Math lessons using the PowerPoint program and use it to give tests. I would show examples and directions on our Science experiments, so that students will know what to do when they are doing their Science experiments and assignments. I would then show students how to do reports using PowerPoint and as a class we would look at each others presentations and critique it. I would use PowerPoint presentations to make learning come alive. I would like to develop some of my students to go into different careers and see life for what it can be. I would like to use these experiences for my students to see if they would like to be computer analysts or business associates. I am writing this grant to ask for a laptop and an in focus machine that I could hook to the laptop to show PowerPoint presentations. My students and I would be ever so grateful. Thank you in advance.
