My Project

Every day, my students remind me that progress is not measured by how fast you learn, but by the courage to keep trying. My middle school students with autism and other developmental disabilities bring so much joy, curiosity, and determination into our classroom. I love watching their faces light up when they master a new skill, solve a problem on their own, or proudly share something they have learned. Whether it is reading a new word, expressing a need, completing a math task, or simply gaining the confidence to try something new, every achievement is worth celebrating. They work incredibly hard, and they deserve a classroom that helps them feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

The resources in this project will make a meaningful difference in my students' daily learning experiences.

The headphones will help block out distractions and create a calmer environment, allowing them to focus during independent work, literacy lessons, and computer-based activities without becoming overwhelmed. The hands-on manipulatives will allow my students to touch, build, sort, and explore concepts in ways that make learning more meaningful and enjoyable. These tools will strengthen their academic skills while also building confidence, independence, and a love for learning. With your support, you will be providing more than classroom supplies; you will be giving my students opportunities to succeed, celebrate their growth, and believe in what they are capable of achieving.
