Operation Start the School Year Right

Help me give my students the opportunity to prepare to become successful fifth graders by supplying the essentials. The pencil sharpeners and copy paper allows us to practice taking notes, organizing thoughts and solving problems.

My Project

We spend a lot of time preparing our scholars to learn skills needed for the next level and to present their knowledge through schoolwide, district, and state assessments. Operation Successful Start of School Year allows for us to get a few supplies needed to be placed on the right path.

The pencil sharpeners will allow us to make sure the scholars always have tools (the sharpened pencils) to use.

Our scholars use the dry erase markers to collaborate on solving problems and the markers to create anchor charts and other evidence to showcase their work. The snacks keep them energized and powered to move on to the next level.

For four years in a role, the scholars at our school have continued to show growth despite our Title 1 designation. We have improved our school's standing and reputation in our community and look to continue in our path of excellence. Our results reflect our district and state's goal to ensure that scholars exemplify the Portrait of a Graduate and preparing them to be college and career ready adults.
