Creating a Joyful, Inclusive Space for Young Learners in Kindergarten

Help me give my students a necessary part of learning through the use of their senses. The Sensory Table with lid would provide our students with hands on opportunities to explore, create and learn through play.

My Project

I LOVE kindergarten because it is a place where children begin their journey of learning, and I want to make learning FUN for them at this young age. Our classroom has several students with unique needs, limited attention, and who are extra fidgety.

As a teacher assistant, I purchase so much out of pocket for my students.

I am passionate about giving our creative and active learners everything they need, but our current budget limits what we can provide.

*Sensory Table with Lid....requested because children LEARN through play and using their senses to explore. This can be used inside our room and outside.

*The doll set will be a fantastic asset to our dollhouse. This will encourage development of social skills when playing with others, which is essential to learn at this young age.

*Trampoline...Our county has done away with our special needs kindergarten classrooms. As a result, we are seeing more students who require breaks through movement so that they can complete required seated assignments.

*Dry erase Boards....We do not get new ones very often. We use them frequently, and they are worn and discolored from previous years' students working on them.

*Scissors...Kindergarten is where students learn how to use them. The ones we have are several years old and do not open and close smoothly, making them difficult for their little hands to manipulate.

*Instant Snow...Great addition to the sensory table for the winter months. I am in NC where we are not guaranteed snow, but kids love it and will stimulate all their senses and allow for learning in a creative seasonal way.

*Magnetic building blocks....Creative way to provide learning when we use our STEM bins. Kids love to create and use their imagination through building toys.

*LED light writing boards....provide another way kids can practice letter formation and spelling words.
