My Project

As a first-year sixth-grade science teacher, I want to create a classroom that feels welcoming, calming, and exciting so my students are eager to learn every day. Decorating my classroom with soft lighting, plants, flexible seating such as bean bags, calming décor, and hands-on science materials will help transform the room into a place where students feel safe, comfortable, and curious. Many students are intimidated by science because they think it is too difficult or not meant for them. My goal is to create an environment where every student feels confident asking questions, exploring new ideas, and participating in experiments without fear of making mistakes.

Decorating my classroom creates a learning environment where students are excited to explore science instead of shying away from it.

When students walk into a classroom that feels peaceful, organized, and engaging, they are more likely to stay focused, participate in lessons, and develop a positive attitude toward learning. My students are special because they all come from different backgrounds, learn in different ways, and deserve a classroom that supports their individual needs. By creating a space that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and creativity, I hope to inspire a lifelong love of science while helping every student believe they are capable of success.
