My Project

As the new school year arrives, I have thought about ways to provide resources for students when the anxieties of 3rd grade impact them greatly. Many students deal with stress from testing, so allowing a space to manage those stressors will provide confidence. My students often struggle with reading and math, coming from mixed identities and low-income families. All of these impact their mental health in the classroom.

Many students today have a range of disabilities that impact their sensory acceptance, so purchasing from this list will provide resources to allow a safe place.

All of the materials will help them manage their emotions and will allow me to teach them proper coping mechanisms. From fidgets to a soft rug to sit on, the students will learn to regulate their nervous systems and find positive sensory outlets.

All of these focus on finding healthy methods of coping during times of stress, preventing external and internal behaviors from taking over their minds. From the students who have physical reactions to the students who mentally leave the classroom, allowing them a safe place to manage their feelings is important. With your help, they can find the skills to do so, and they will become better learners as well.
