My Project

I am supplementing my classroom library with various interesting authors and stories. I want to develop a love of reading and learning for my first graders. The books I have selected are mostly parts of series. I have found that if I can get students interested in a particular topic or character they are more willing to read. During our whole group read aloud I try to expose students to different characters and authors to get them "hooked".

I teach at a Title I school and a lot of my students have limited experiences outside the classroom.

By exposing my students to a variety of texts I can expand their knowledge and experience in a meaningful way. Thank you for supporting my developing readers!
