Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day, my kindergarten students gather on the floor for our most important learning moments. Whether we're reading stories, practicing phonics, building math skills, or participating in morning meetings, our classroom rug is the heart of our learning environment.

Unfortunately, we do not have a comfortable rug where all of my students can sit together.

A classroom rug will provide each child with a personal space, helping them stay focused, engaged, and ready to learn. It will also create a safe, welcoming environment where students can collaborate, listen, and participate in hands-on activities.

Kindergarten students learn best through movement, discussion, and interactive lessons. Having a designated meeting area helps establish routines, encourages positive behavior, and builds a strong classroom community. A quality rug will be used every single day for literacy instruction, math lessons, social-emotional learning, science investigations, and classroom celebrations.

Many of my students thrive when they have a structured and comfortable learning space. This rug will give them a place where they feel included, valued, and excited to learn each day.
