My Project

Perler beads are an all-accessible medium in which students can design and create according to their current developmental stage. Every year, my students LOVE doing their perler bead projects, and constantly ask when we can do them again. The repetitive, low-stakes process creates a calming, yet accomplishing and satisfying art experience for them, granting not only mindfulness during their busy day, but also giving a confidence boost to those who are not otherwise the type to excel in other mediums such as drawing, painting, or weaving. In the end, students have a project they are proud to take home, and are excited to do again! Perler beads create a space for kids to relax, focus, and excel in a way that other mediums cannot. Because this project has been so popular the past two years I've been a teacher, my supply is running severely low.
