My Project

The tie-dye activity will help with our team building efforts for the new school year! It will be a process my students will never forget! They'll be proud of their success. As they wear their tie-dyed shirt to school, they become a walking piece of art! It is the perfect craft that blends artistry, science, and fun. Tie-dying is also an excellent way to engage their imaginations and teach them about colors and patterns – plus, the end result is a wardrobe full of unique and vibrant clothing items!

The objectives are for students to learn the proper procedure for making tie-dye, work confidently in teams, and create unique designs.

The teacher will explain the history of tie-dye, demonstrate sample designs, and break students into groups to dye t-shirts following specific steps. Children develop their fine motor skills as they manipulate the fabric and apply the dye. It also cultivates patience and dexterity as they wait for the dye to set and work on detailed patterns. Furthermore, tie-dyeing serves as a fun way to introduce children to the world of colors.

The Skittles, pinata, candies, tooth picks and marshmallows will be used throughout the year for various "Minute to Win It" challenges in the classroom.
