My Project

In our 5th-grade math classroom, students use whiteboards almost every day during instruction. During mini-lessons, guided practice, and problem-solving activities, students use whiteboards to solve equations, model strategies, explain their thinking, and share their work with classmates. These quick checks allow me to immediately assess student understanding and provide timely feedback.

Unfortunately, our whiteboards and supplies create frequent interruptions.

Dry-erase markers run out of ink, erasers are often misplaced, and the boards become stained after repeated use. When these issues occur, students must stop learning to find replacement materials or switch to paper and pencil. While they handle these transitions responsibly, the interruptions can cause students to lose focus and miss valuable instruction, especially those who benefit from consistent routines and minimal distractions.

LCD writing tablets would provide a reliable, reusable, and engaging tool for daily math instruction. Students could quickly solve problems, revise their work, and share their mathematical thinking without worrying about broken or missing supplies. This would allow them to stay engaged, participate more actively, and focus on developing critical math skills.

By supporting our project, you will help create a more efficient and engaging learning environment where students can concentrate on mastering 5th-grade math concepts instead of managing classroom materials. In addition, using modern technology will strengthen students' digital literacy, increase their confidence with technology, and inspire a greater enthusiasm for learning.
