My Project

As a Media Coordinator, my scholars are asking for cookbooks so they can lean how to cook. Cooking provides opportunities to learn about their heritage and fosters empathy for diverse cultures. Young chefs also learn comprehension and math skills.

Cookbooks support social emotional learning by turning recipes into active practice for self-awareness, self-management, and relationship skills.

Scholars learn patience, attention to details, resilience, and impulse control. They learn to share space, divide responsibilities, and negotiate roles. Scholars also learn about dietary needs and making healthy choices.

My young chefs will love learning to cook, spending time with family, and so much more!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
