My Project

With the amount of students in schools today, lunch times begin earlier than normal and can be scheduled late in the day. Some students begin eating lunch within two to three hours after arriving at school, others five hours after arrival. By the end of the day, students who had an earlier lunch are becoming hungry again in their later classes and students with later lunches are hungry in their earlier classes before they go.

With earlier lunch times or late lunch times students can become hungry which effects their focus.

They begin looking at the clock to see how much time they hvae before going home or going to lunch. Depending on when their scheduled time is. Not to mention students who have practices after school before going home may need an addtional snack.

I want to be able to balance that need should it arise in my classroom. Students are older and require more energy throughout the the day. Being focused in the classroom is essential to the learning process.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
