This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every student has a story worth telling. In our Global Voices Studio, students won't simply complete assignments—they will become bilingual podcasters, journalists, researchers, and storytellers. Through authentic media production, they will learn to communicate confidently in English and Spanish while exploring global cultures, interviewing community members, discussing current events, and sharing ideas that matter. As a Title I school serving a diverse student population, many of my students have incredible experiences and perspectives but few opportunities to share them with a real audience.

The materials requested will transform a corner of our classroom into a professional podcast and media studio where students can create high-quality audio and video productions.

Additional microphones, headphones, recording equipment, acoustic materials, lighting, and studio resources will allow multiple students to collaborate simultaneously while taking on authentic roles such as podcast hosts, journalists, producers, researchers, audio engineers, and editors. This project goes far beyond technology—it gives students a voice, builds confidence, strengthens communication skills, encourages teamwork, and creates meaningful learning experiences that connect our classroom to the world.

My goal is to create a learning environment where students see themselves not just as learners, but as creators, leaders, and global citizens. The Global Voices Studio will become a space where curiosity, creativity, and culture come together, helping students develop critical thinking, bilingual communication, media literacy, and collaboration skills that will prepare them for future academic success and lifelong learning.
