My Project

Students with visual impairments deserve access to the same engaging, high-quality educational experiences as their peers. As education continues to evolve, so do my students' interests and learning needs. To foster a love of reading and build strong math skills, my classroom must provide accessible materials that make learning meaningful and motivating. Braille books encourage students to develop literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading, while tactile manipulatives, games, and textured activities make math concepts more concrete, interactive, and engaging.

As part of this project, I will transcribe the Bob Books into Braille, providing beginning readers with developmentally appropriate, accessible texts that support early literacy, build reading confidence, and encourage independent reading.

By combining accessible reading materials with hands-on math resources, my students will have equitable opportunities to participate fully in instruction, strengthen essential academic skills, and grow in confidence as learners.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
