My Project

My students are passionate, energetic, and hardworking. However, like all of us, they sometimes experience big emotions that can feel overwhelming. When a student is stuck in a cycle of frustration, anxiety, or sensory overload, it is incredibly difficult for them to focus on learning.

To start I want to create a dedicated 'Calm Corner' right in our K-2 classrooms.

This will be a safe, quiet, and cozy space where students can briefly step away when they feel overwhelmed. In this space, they won't just be 'taking a break'—they will be actively learning how to regulate their emotions in a healthy way.

With your generous support, we can outfit this corner with comfortable seating, sensory tools (fidgets) that help lower heart rates and calm anxious minds. By funding this project, you aren't just buying items; you are giving our students the lifelong tools they need to practice self-care, build emotional resilience, and return to their desks ready to succeed academically.
