My Project

As a first-year ELA teacher, I’m building a classroom library that helps students actually want to read. Many middle schoolers struggle to find books that interest them, so my goal is to offer a wide range of stories that feel engaging, relatable, and fun.

This collection includes graphic novels, mysteries, realistic fiction, and award-winning titles like Wonder and The Crossover.

The variety ensures that every student—especially reluctant readers—can find something that hooks them and keeps them turning pages.

Graphic novels and diverse voices are especially important because they give students accessible entry points into reading while still building strong literacy skills and empathy. I want students to see reading as something they can enjoy, not just something they have to do.

Most of all, I want my classroom to be a place where students get excited about books and feel proud to call themselves readers. Thank you for helping me put meaningful stories into their hands.
