My Project

My students need individual whiteboards and clipboards that allow them to move freely throughout the classroom while remaining engaged in meaningful mathematical work. Some of the richest learning occurs when students are standing, discussing strategies with partners, and solving problems together. Whiteboards provide a low-risk way for students to share their thinking, revise their work, and learn from mistakes. Clipboards allow students to work comfortably in different areas of the room, supporting movement and collaboration while maintaining focus on academic tasks.

In addition, place value charts are an essential tool for helping students develop a deep understanding of our number system.

Fifth-grade students are expected to work with whole numbers and decimals to the thousandths place, yet many continue to struggle with understanding the relationships between place values. Durable place value charts provide a visual model that helps students recognize patterns, make connections, and build conceptual understanding rather than relying solely on memorized procedures.

Together, flexible learning tools such as whiteboards, clipboards, and place value charts create an interactive learning environment where students can actively engage with mathematics, communicate their reasoning, and develop a stronger understanding of mathematical concepts. These resources support both academic growth and student confidence while encouraging the collaborative learning experiences that help students thrive.
