Creating Through Color and Clay

Help me give my students Sharpie marker sets, Model Magic clay, Sharpie markers, storage bins for supplies, and hands-on art materials that inspire creativity and support artistic growth.

My Project

My middle school art students are highly creative, curious, and eager to learn and express themselves through hands-on learning. They love exploring new materials and experimenting with different artistic techniques.

I am introducing several new lessons this year, to teach new skills and inspire even more creativity in my art classroom.

The supplies in this project, including Model Magic clay, modeling dough, Sharpie markers, paintbrushes, bleeding tissue paper, storage bins, and classroom markers, will help students create meaningful works of art while building confidence and problem-solving skills. These materials will be used throughout the school year for sculpture and mixed media projects. They will also be used to store materials that students have access to daily, giving them more freedom of choice and in exploring and creating in their own ways.

By providing these essential resources, donors will help ensure that every student has the opportunity to explore these exciting new projects, develop artistic skills, and experience the joy of creating something uniquely their own. At our school, many students choose Art as one of their encore classes. That is unique and special. I am also starting an Advanced Art class for both 7th and 8th grade students, that my students and myself are very excited for. One project that I will specifically teach using these materials is "Dragon Eye Sculptures." I taught this with 6th grade students last year, and it was a huge success! Students come to my class asking when they are going to be able to do the dragon eyes! Because of this, my students are in need of more modeling clay, and materials used to add color to the clay. These materials will bring a lot of joy to my middle school art students, and I thank you for any support you're able to give!
