Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One question that students ask frequently in Middle Schools is "When are we EVER going to use this Math?" Most of my students live in a low-income household, with limited exposure to current events happening around them. These magazines will help connect their learning to how they can apply it to real life.

Scholastic MATH Magazine lets students read about how math is being used through very engaging and current articles.

These magazines will help them review and practice math concepts, as well as reinforce their reading. I want them to have something to look forward to each month. My goal is to give each student their own copy of the magazine so they can take it home with them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
