My Project

My students are curious, creative, and eager to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique experiences and perspectives into our classroom every day. As a 6th-grade English Language Arts teacher, I strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to become a lifelong reader and writer. My goal is to provide engaging opportunities that help students develop strong literacy skills while fostering a genuine love of reading.

A well-stocked classroom library is one of the most powerful tools for increasing student engagement and reading achievement.

By adding high-interest novels, graphic novels, biographies, and diverse texts, students will have greater access to books that match their interests and reading levels. These books will encourage independent reading, increase reading stamina, and help students see themselves reflected in literature.

An iPad will transform instruction by allowing me to move freely around the classroom while teaching. I will be able to provide real-time feedback to students, monitor their work more efficiently, and project student examples, anchor charts, and instructional materials directly to the screen. This mobility will help me engage students more effectively and provide immediate support when needed.

Headphones will create a focused learning environment for silent reading, audiobooks, literacy programs, and individualized instruction. Students will be able to fully engage with digital reading platforms without distractions, improving both comprehension and concentration.

This project will help create a classroom where students have access to the resources they need to succeed. Expanded book choices will inspire students to read more frequently and confidently. The iPad will allow for more interactive, responsive instruction, and the headphones will support independent learning opportunities for all students.

Together, these resources will strengthen literacy skills, increase student engagement, and foster a love of reading that extends beyond the classroom.
