This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The light table I am requesting for my students already has a home in our kindergarten classroom. It will be placed in our exploration center, where little hands and curious minds can get to work discovering, creating, and learning. Kindergarteners seem to have a special talent for touching absolutely everything—and with a light table, that's exactly what I want them to do! Students will use the table with translucent letters, numbers, shapes, and other hands-on materials to explore literacy, math, science, and art concepts in an engaging way. The glowing surface transforms everyday learning materials into exciting invitations to investigate, collaborate, and wonder.

As a Title I school, many of my students have had limited access to specialized educational resources like a light table.

For some, this may be their very first opportunity to learn through this type of interactive, sensory-rich experience. The donations to this project will help provide equitable learning opportunities while fostering creativity, problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills. Most importantly, this light table will help create those magical kindergarten moments when students are so engaged in learning that they don't even realize how much they are growing.
