Our Rug Is Retiring After Years of Learning!

Help me give my students a new rug for whole class instruction time!

My Project

In second grade, the rug serves as much more than a piece of furniture - but it is the home to our classroom community. It is a place where students come together for morning meetings, read-alouds, whole-group lessons, and community-building activities. Having a welcoming (and comfortable) space will encourage students to collaborate, share their ideas, and build meaningful connections with their peers! These moments help create a sense of belonging and a positive classroom culture where everyone feels valued!

As a first-year teacher starting mid-year I was fortunate enough to inherit a well-loved classroom with so many useful resources.

However, our rug has also been well loved and has reached the end of it's ride here in our classroom. After years of daily use by countless students, our rug is worn, faded, and no longer provides a calm learning experience that it once did.

A new rug would help support a more functional, flexible, and inclusive learning environment!
