Drawers, Bins, and the Battle of Student Exploration Organization

Help me give my students storage drawers, clear craft organizers, and drawer organizer bins so our learning materials can stay calm, visible, accessible, and ready for hands-on exploration.

My Project

Many of our students with disabilities thrive when STEM and science materials are organized, visible, and easy to access independently. In our learning spaces, hands-on science tools are used for exploring, building, observing, sorting, experimenting, and making real-world connections. Without proper storage, these materials can quickly become overwhelming, difficult to manage, and harder for students to use successfully.

The 12-drawer storage cabinet will provide easy-to-reach access to larger STEM tools, science manipulatives, exploration materials, adaptive resources, and hands-on investigation supplies.

The GeeBom clear craft organizers will help store smaller science materials such as task cards, sensory tools, sorting objects, magnifiers, labels, experiment pieces, and fine motor STEM activities. The Crusia drawer organizer bins will allow us to separate materials by activity, topic, or investigation so students and teachers can quickly find exactly what they need.

These organizational systems will also support students’ mental health by reducing visual clutter, confusion, and frustration. For students who may feel anxious, overstimulated, or unsure during transitions, knowing where science and STEM materials belong creates a stronger sense of safety, predictability, and control.

When students can easily access the tools they need, they spend less time feeling overwhelmed and more time exploring, questioning, building, and learning. Organized STEM spaces help support independence, responsibility, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and confidence.

These materials will help create a more inclusive, welcoming, and student-centered STEM learning space where all students can investigate, problem-solve, participate, and experience the joy of hands-on science.
