My Project

In fifth grade, students take part in a Reproductive Health and Safety (RHASE) Unit. Reproductive Health and Safety Education (RHASE) reinforces puberty education through five 45-60 minute lessons. An important component of RHASE is the constant focus on healthy relationships and medically accurate information presented to develop the skills of health literacy. Additionally, RHASE provides instructional strategies to allow interaction between students and caregivers. One of the main things we try and communicate to our students during the unit is how important hygiene is for their overall health and how it can make them feel better about growing up.

This project will provide students with maxi pads and deodorant that contribute to their overall health and hygiene, while building their confidence and independence in taking care of their bodies.
