My Project

I would like to create small and simple sensory need bags for all of the classrooms in our school. We don’t just see sensory needs in the special education classroom. Therefore, we should equip all of our teachers, in all of our classrooms, to be proactive rather than reactive.

We are quickly learning that a lot of our students have sensory needs that we are not meeting within the general education classroom.

We are not equipping these students with the necessary materials. I mean, we don’t see sensory items on the back-to-school list.

I would like to see all of our classrooms and all of our students, in and out of special education classrooms, be successful. Not just in academics, but also in social-emotional learning and sensory needs.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
