My Project

A student-lead initiative!

Two seventh grade students in my math class have created an initiative to support educators and classrooms at our middle school.

They were motivated by recent teacher pay discussions happening within the state of North Carolina, and have compiled a list of resources teachers need for their classrooms. They spent many hours surveying teachers about what support they need within their classrooms, materials that would enhance learning, and more. White boards and markers will help support math classes, novels for ELA, craft supplies (tape, glue, paper) for science and social studies. Many items, such as pencils, loose leaf paper, notebooks, tissues, and hand sanitizer are things every needs in their classrooms-- often which classroom teachers fund on their own. Folders will be used for organization for all classes and grade levels. Motivational stickers were requested by our grade level admin, as she is often seen posting them around the building to build student morale! They have named this initiative "Fund Our Schools" (F.O.S). The items listed on this site are materials requested by fellow teachers at our school!
