This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is designed to support my students as they continue growing into confident, independent readers. Throughout the year, we have explored culture through engaging books about Colombia, helping students learn about the world in meaningful and exciting ways. We also connected literacy and science by reading Señora Mariposa, which deepened our understanding of butterflies and their life cycle. As a bilingual English-Spanish teacher, I incorporate both languages, ¡Soy bilingüe!, to strengthen comprehension and connection. My students have made incredible progress, and these resources will help them continue building strong reading skills, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
