My Project

My students are some of the most resilient and imaginative young people I know. They have a unique way of seeing the world, and I am constantly inspired by their eagerness to express themselves through art. For many of them, this new photography course is their first opportunity to see themselves as true creators. I love witnessing their "aha!" moments when a complex concept finally clicks, and I want to give them every tool possible to make those moments happen daily.

The sun print paper I am requesting is the perfect bridge for our journey into the soul of photography.

Before they master a digital sensor, I want them to understand the inner workings of how light interacts with chemistry. By using this cyanotype paper, my students will learn the fundamental mechanics of a "camera obscura" and the history of Black and White imagery.

This hands-on resource allows them to physically manipulate light and shadow to create art, teaching them patience and precision. It turns the outdoors into our darkroom and the sun into our exposure tool. Your support will empower these young photographers to document their lives with a depth and technical skill they never thought possible, turning a simple scientific reaction into a beautiful, lasting masterpiece.
