Dissection Equipment

My project needs 30 new and updated dissection kits. The kits include cutting supplies and pins to hold down the specimen while dissecting.

I teach at a public high school where I am teaching Biology 1 to 9th and 10th graders. I am also teaching Anatomy/Physiology to 11th and 12th graders. I am a teacher in a school district that has been taken over by the state, which has left the students and teachers to deal with the financial woes that someone else created. The science department's budget has been cut drastically. This has left us to teach students with little hands-on labs. We have been able to order some animal specimens this year, but have old and very little dissection equipment. By granting this request, this will allow my students to use newer and safer lab equipment. The dissection equipment that I requested will allow my class to achieve a safe and more hands-on experience. The students that I serve are those who need hands-on learning to enrich their educational process. I have seen the interest levels increase when their are more visuals to go along with the lesson. It will help boost understanding.
