My Project

In our classroom, third graders don’t just finish assignments — they practice leading their own learning through structured coaching and classroom jobs.

My students work in teams as planners, editors, researchers, designers, and presenters while they create reports, reflection pages, data summaries, and small community-impact projects.

To make this feel real, students need a way to publish their work, not just turn in a paper that disappears into a folder. Toner for our classroom printer allows them to print final drafts, presentation pages, and team projects. When students see their work look official, they take it seriously and hold themselves accountable for quality.

This project supports coaching in essential skills like teamwork, communication, organization, revision, and speaking clearly to others. Students prepare materials for peer presentations and project showcases that mirror real-world expectations — just in a third grade friendly way. They learn to give feedback, improve their work, and help teammates improve theirs too.

Whether they someday become builders, artists, engineers, teachers, or anything else, they will need to explain ideas and work with others. Through intentional coaching, students reflect on how their team worked, revise after feedback, and take responsibility for the finished product.

Although we are requesting toner, this project is not really about ink. It is about helping students see their ideas matter and their effort has value. With your support, we can continue coaching confident, capable third graders who are learning how to think, work together, and take pride in what they create.
