Travel around the world without leaving the classroom!
I am a kindergarten teacher in a rural district with limited cultural/ethnic diversity.
Due to our limited diversity, many of our students do not have the opportunity to be exposed to different cultures.
Kindergarten students learn through play. By providing them with dramatic play costumes and dolls of different cultures, they would have the chance to travel the world without leaving the classroom. By using these costumes, the students will have the opportunity to act out different literature stories and celebrate such things as The Chinese New Year. The costumes will be incorporated into our dramatic play area so that the role playing will take place throughout the year.
Your help will ensure that all of my students have the opportunity to discover the different cultures and ethnic groups from around the world. Thank you for reading this proposal.
