My students need 60 12 in. inflatable globes. This will be enough for me to give one globe to each student to take home.

My Students

Where in the world are current events happening? Can you find your city on the globe? Do you realize how close or how far other places are to where you live? The sixth grade is the year that the world opens up for students. In Social Studies, I teach young people about World Cultures.

I have sixth graders this year.

The good news is that they tend to be eager and funny. The challenge is that they are often below grade level readers and reluctant to read and write (two skills that are essential in Social Studies). Our school has not met the standards on the state reading and math tests for too many years. We are all working hard to be creative and motivate our students to want to learn more.

My Project

I believe that giving each student I teach their own inflatable globe will motivate them to learn more about the world around them. I am excited about sharing the world with them and letting them take a globe home and learn more on their own and even to share their knowledge with family members. They will be able to review what they learn in World Cultures class and even explore on their own.

Please help my students have the world (inflatable globe) as a resource they can keep at home to review, research, explore and to share.

I believe learning should happen after school hours too.
