I have students in class who are squinting and blinking, struggling to see what's right in front of them. They need eyeglasses!
My urban middle school students, many of them overage, begin the year reading years below grade level.
We work hard in our mixed-grade Language Arts classroom, reading and writing every day, to prepare for high school success.
Interrupted schooling and frequent moves are the norm for my students. Some of them had glasses years ago and need them replaced. Others have never had an eye exam. I can't fix the poverty issues that created this need, but I can, with your help, provide a few more students with eyeglasses. This project for eye exams and eyeglasses will allow 4 students to see instruction clearly, learn more, and be more successful in school.
My Project
A licensed optometrist will provide four students with a complete eye exam. The students will then be able to select a pair of eyeglasses at the optical center next door. These eyeglasses will allow four students to see clearly both inside and outside of school.
Clear vision is an important part of school success.
Students who struggle with blurred vision fall further and further behind. Please help me provide eye exams and eyeglasses to students who need them.
